Richard Braithwaite is a versatile musician based in West Wales, UK. He is as busy as ever, and has just completed his latest project, his second CD with the very talented Kathryn Crosweller called ‘Can You Hear My Heart?’. He has also recently released a CD of piano pieces inspired by the Welsh rivers and mountains called ‘Celtic Piano’. You can hear tracks from both CDs in the media player.

Richard composes a variety of music in a wide range of styles. Equally at home writing for the Celtic flute as for the electric guitar, he is constantly looking for new challenges. He also sings with Anahata, West Wales’s answer to Clannad, check out their website in the links.

Rich plays a number of different instruments  – the guitar,  bass, piano, drums and violin, which is very useful as he can do a lot of the recording on his tracks himself. He also uses many different VST plugins to create a varied sound scape for his compositions and recording work. This is another of his loves, using technology to to enhance his music. He used to lecture in music technology, and can’t imagine going back to the days before multi-track audio sequencers made life a lot easier and more creative for musicians.

Richard works mostly from his Welsh studio, where it is possible to create the vast majority of his music using a powerful computer and some high quality equipment. This is where he composes his own music, as well as recording others.
